Oi Oi….. who am i…?

My name is Tony Troughton and I am the curator and imagination behind Punks Not Dead Radio Show!

I consider myself a pioneer of Punk within the borders of my beloved Forest of Dean!

In the early 80’s I formed a Punk band called Barbed Wire and within a short couple of years, we influenced and scarred the Forest music scene leaving memories which linger on today!

I am a massive ‘live music’ gig fan and boast a “100+ different bands in a 12 monthly period” until …….. Covid!! Damn that plague!

The ban on music gigs has just one silver lining … the birth of Rocking Fox Radio!!

My music influence is mainly thanks to the late great Mr John Peel. His interest in and promotion of new, unheard bands is admirable and worthy of emulation!

My goal is simple .. to bring music to the ears of listeners, for them to embark on a journey of discovery, and realise that ” Life Without Music isn’t Life at All ”
