A great cover version can introduce a familiar track to a completely new audience. Sometimes, musicians stay close to the original recording. On other occasions, they transform the song into something quite different.

For example, a powerful rock arrangement can give a familiar melody an entirely new character. Equally, a different vocal performance can change the mood of a song.

That’s what makes cover versions so interesting. They allow us to hear well-known music from another perspective.

Your Wednesday Rock Fix at Six

Gordon’s weekday RockMeister series brings a different musical theme to Rocking Fox Radio every evening at 6pm.

On Mondays, Rock’s Theme connects songs through a chosen subject. Tuesdays bring Rock’s Alphabet, while Thursdays feature the power ballads of Rock’s Power.

Then, on Fridays, Rock’s Golden Year revisits the rock hits of a particular year.
