Behind The 80s Lounge microphone is Tom Banks, a DJ with more than four decades of experience entertaining music lovers.
His DJ career began unexpectedly in 1982 when he rescued a birthday party after the booked DJ failed to appear. Armed with records collected from his nearby flat, Tom learned to use the equipment on the spot and ended the evening with an offer of regular DJ work!
Since then, music has remained a major part of his life.
Tom also has previous radio experience, having helped produce a drivetime programme while living abroad during the 1980s.
Today, he brings that experience and enthusiasm to The 80s Lounge.
